Ratnakaran scores win

KOZHIKODE, APRIL 25. Top seed and local lad K. Ratnakaran opened his campaign with a first round victory against Vineeth P. Kaimal of Ernakulam in the State `A' chess championship at the Chess India Complex here on Sunday. There were also wins for M.B. Muraleedharan from Ernakulam, O.T. Anil Kumar of Kozhikode, Alex Thomas from Wayanad and U.C. Mohanan of Ernakulam.
