MADURAI, APRIL 25. The Madurai Kamaraj University today rescheduled examinations of 30 papers after question papers of half-a-dozen subjects were leaked. The examinations had been scheduled from tomorrow. Question papers of two subjects were leaked on April 19 and the examinations were already rescheduled. With this, question papers of at least eight subjects have been leaked so far. Last night, the Madurai police seized question papers from the house of some students at Periyakulam in Theni district. A Periyakulam self-financing college has been identified as the originating point and two employees were taken into custody. As university authorities feared more leakages would occur, it decided to reschedule the examinations. Papers of more subjects could be in circulation, senior university authorities said. Fresh dates have been announced and new question papers are being prepared for all subjects, including BBA, B. Sc. (IT), B. Com. and BCA. It will send a communication to all 63 colleges, according to university officials. Sources said students in almost all colleges purchased the papers at different rates "with buying and selling done just outside the colleges and near teashops." Syndicate members, G. Thiruvasagam and Ajmal Khan, told The Hindu that the ``whole thing will be viewed seriously. A tough action against the college is certain.''
