HYDERABAD, APRIL 25. The statue of Kasu Brahmananda Reddy near the NTR Trust Bhavan in Jubilee Hills is to be shifted from its present rotary onto the newly built pedestal in front of the KBR Park. The shift is to facilitate smoother flow of traffic at the junction, especially to vehicles moving towards the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital. This proposal will also remove the hitch motorists have been facing in proceeding straight from the NTR Trust Bhavan road without needing to take a curve from the rotary. The statue of the former Chief Minister was installed 10 years ago and the proposal to shift it has been pending for the last three years. "We took the approval of the family members of Brahmananda Reddy as well as Congress leaders before deciding to shift the statue," said the DCP (Traffic), K. Sreenivas Reddy. The shifting process will cost Rs. 1 lakh.
