Rain likely

Forecast: A spell of rain or thundershowers are likely in some areas. Maximum temperature would be around 35 degree Celsius.

At Waltair, the maximum temperature was 31.8 degree Celsius and the minimum was 24.4 degree Celsius respectively on Sunday. No rainfall. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 57 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. was 71 per cent.

At Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 35.2 degree Celsius and 24.6 degree Celsius respectively. Rainfall at 8.30 p.m. was 0.5 mm. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 58 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. was 73 per cent.

The maximum and minimum temperatures at the Dolphin's Nose were 31.8 degree Celsius and 22.6 degree Celsius respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 60 per cent.

Power shutdown

There will be a power shut down in some areas of the city from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday. The shut down is being done to facilitate pre-monsoon inspection on the Allipuram 11 KV feeder. The areas which will have no power supply are: Allipuram, Venkateswarametta, Captain Rama Rao Jn., Kobbarithota, Atchiammapeta and Bowdara Road area.

MDS admissions

The entrance test for admission into Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) courses for the academic year 2004-05 will be conducted by the NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, on May 16.

The test will be conducted at the Government Dental College & Hospital, Afzalgunj, in Hyderabad.

Seminar on legal awareness

A seminar on legal awareness was organised by the District Legal Services Authority in association with the Telugu Bala Mahila Pranganam and the Subharathi Praja Sankshema Sangham on Saturday.

The VII Additional District Judge, A.M.L. Narasimha Rao, who participated as chief guest, spoke on `Maintenance, succession and property rights of women'. The secretary of the DLSA, B. Rama Rao, spoke on `DLSA Act'. The Principal Senior Civil Judge, K. Syamala Devi, presided.
