Election duty

COIMBATORE, APRIL 25. The Government proposes to avail the services of ex-servicemen for the election bandobust duty. Interested ex-servicemen who retired from service within the last five years i.e. from May 1, 1999, are eligible.

They are advised to meet the Assistant Director of Ex-servicemen Welfare Board at Jawans Bhavan, Huzur Road, either in person or by post for enrolling their names.

Grievances Day

The grievances redressal meeting for the consumers of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board will be held at the office of the Executive Engineer, Avinashi, on April 28 at 11 a.m.

Training

The Department of Textile Technology of the Kumaraguru College of Technology will organise a two-day training programme for those working in textile showrooms and unemployed youth on April 29 and 30.

The 15th Sivagnana Velvi of Sidhar Gnana Pata Shala will be celebrated from May 1 to 11 at Sivakudil, Nethaji Nagar.

Felicitated

Drivers and the maintenance staff of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) were felicitated by the Ashok Leyland for efficient maintenance and enhanced engine life. Officials of TNSTC and representatives of Ashok Leyland gave away prizes to 470 drivers and mechanics at a function held here recently.
