NEW DELHI, APRIL 26. The former Kerala Chief Minister and senior CPI(M) leader, E.K. Nayanar, who is suffering from foot ulcer and diabetes, was today admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for advanced treatment.

The veteran leader with ulcer on his left foot was admitted to the Department of Surgery in the morning, sources in the Institute said. The condition of the leaderwas ``not serious,'' they said.

Mr. Nayanar had undergone treatment for cardiac problems in Escorts Hospital here four months ago and was initially unwilling to come to Delhi for treatment as he wanted to campaign for his party for the Lok Sabha elections. — PTI
