CHENNAI,
APRIL 27.
An Inspector-General of Police of the Tamil Nadu cadre has been posted to the Central Bureau of Investigation as a Joint Director in New Delhi. Mr. Ashokkumar, belonging to the 1982 batch of the Indian Police Service, who is now serving as an Inspector-General of Police, Special Investigation Cell-II in the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Chennai, today received the relieving order from the State Government.
But the Tamil Nadu Government is yet to relieve D. Mukherjee, who had received orders posting him as Additional Director of the CBI, New Delhi. An officer of the 1971 batch, Mr. Mukherjee, at present a Member of the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board here, received the transfer order in mid-February.
