Tension in village after attack on Congress activist

VIJAYAWADA,
APRIL 27.
Tension prevailed in Chandralapadu village in Nandigama division on Tuesday evening after a Congress activist, K. Ranga Rao (60), was assaulted allegedly by two TDP activists -- K. Satyanarayana and G. Venkateswara Rao.
The duo reportedly assaulted Mr. Ranga Rao who recently crossed over to the Congress from the TDP. Mr. Ranga Rao was going on a cycle when the TDP activists confronted him over the issue.
An altercation ensued during which Mr. Rao was allegedly punched and pushed from the cycle. The accused then fled the scene, the Nandigama Deputy Superintendent of Police, B.R. Dumas, told The Hindu . The police were on the lookout for the accused who are also related to the victim.
