HYDERABAD, APRIL 27. The Charminar police unravelled the mystery surrounding the theft of four computers from Agarwal Junior College in the Old City with the arrest of two students of the college and a receptionist of a lodge on Tuesday. The accused students -- Nitin Tiwari of Begum Bazar and Mukesh Kumar of Kali Kaman -- also confessed to have stolen two CPUs from the computer laboratory on February 24. The third accused, Sravan, of Shanti lodge at Chaderghat, allegedly aided and abetted the duo in commission of the crime. The Charminar SI, P. Narsimhulu, said on February 24 the two students remained in the college till evening. They bolted themselves in a toilet and came out late in the night, broke into the laboratory and took away two CPUs. They left them in the safe custody of Sravan. As they were not caught, they planned to commit the offence for the second time, the SI said. This time, they came with four gunny bags and a rope. After scaling the college compound wall, they sneaked into the computer laboratory. They packed the computers in the bags and lowered them with the help of the rope. They took one bag on their scooter. Later, they returned in an auto-rickshaw and took the other bags to the lodge. The trio was arrested after raiding the lodge following a tip-off by a constable, Shyam Sundar Reddy. The stolen property, worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs, was recovered.
