HYDERABAD, APRIL 28. The need for employees to look towards the future and ponder over the organisation's ability to shape its future was underscored by the acting Director, National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), R.K. Samanta, here on Wednesday. At the valedictory of a week-long management development programme in agricultural research, he said that understanding one's role in the realm of research management was required to focus on the performance of the individual in an organisation. "Look around your organisation. Look at the high-profile initiative launched recently, the issues that are pre-occupying the senior management and into the faces of your colleagues and consider their dreams and fears," he said. The programme coordinator, Jagannadham Challa, said decision-making in groups was very slow and at times it was very difficult to arrive at a consensus, unless the dynamics of the group was understood by everyone concerned. It was imperative that a shared vision of everyone, keeping aside the parochial or narrow focus, be nurtured and developed.
