TIRUPATI April 28. With curtains down on the election, contestants who were either chairpersons or ex-officio members of various Government bodies are back in action. It is distinctly seen in the case of the TTD Trust Board, four of whose members were contestants -- three for the Lok Sabha seats and one for the Assembly seat. Barring one all were TDP candidates. For instance, D.K. Audikesavulu Naidu, Chairperson of the TTD Trust Board was the TDP candidate for the Chittoor Lok Saba constituency. D. Rama Naidu, film titan and a member of the TTD Board was the TDP's candidate for the Narasaraopet Parliamentary constituency pitted against NTR's daughter, Purandhareswari. Another TTD Board member and former MP of Nizamabad, G. Ganga Reddy, was also a contestant in the just-concluded election. Formerly a TDP MP, Reddy after throwing his lot with the TRS had this time contested on the TRS ticket for the same constituency. Another member, G. Sudharani was the TDP candidate to the Warrangal Assembly segment. These apart, three other members -- Pappala Chalapathi Rao, Gogineni Uma and A. Jayaram -- all MLAs, who were nominated to the TTD Trust Board under the MLA's quota had already bowed out of office as they ceased to be members of the house the day the Assembly was dissolved. With the three having gone and the four getting busy with their campaigns, there was a lull in the TTD as far as the activities of its Trust Board comprising of 11 nominated members were concerned. The TTD could convene its monthly board meeting only today, nearly a week after its due date. Back to normal after logging themselves off the election mode, all the TTD Board members including its chairperson were today back in action at the meeting held today at Tirumala to discuss the heavy agenda set before them. Similarly, the Tirupati Municipal Chairperson, K. Sankar Reddy, who was away at Puttur trying his hand for the Assembly segment on the TDP ticket also is back in Tirupati and has called for the Municipal Council meeting on April 30. It is to be when the Chairperson of the Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA), N.V. Prasad who contested for the Tirupati Assembly seat on the TDP ticket would convene the meeting of the TUDA.
