JODHPUR, APRIL 28. A worker was killed when an MiG -27 fighter aircraft made an emergency landing at the Jodhpur airbase today, defence sources said.

The fighter jet was forced to return after it developed a technical snag during a routine training sortie around noon, the sources said. During the landing, the aircraft hit a labourer, who was working on the runway killing him instantly. The plane suffered minor damage, but the pilot escaped unhurt.

IAF has sanctioned Rs. 1 lakh as interim relief to the next of kin of the deceased. — UNI
