New traffic regulations from Saturday

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE, APRIL 28. The city police will introduce new traffic regulations from May 1 to reduce traffic density on Seshadri Road, Kempegowda Road, Palace Road, Old Post Office Road, Nrupatunga Road and other connecting roads.

On Kempegowda Road, the movement of vehicles will be banned from Mysore Bank Circle to Police Corner Circle.

However, vehicles will be allowed to move in the opposite direction.

On Seshadri Road, the present one-way from Anand Rao Circle to Maharani College Circle will be extended up to K.R. Circle. Vehicular movement will be banned from K.R. Circle to Maharani College Circle.

On Palace Road, the police will ban the movement of vehicles from Maharani College Circle to Mysore Bank Circle but allow the vehicles to move in the opposite direction.

On Old Post Office Road, the one-way rule from K.R. Circle to Mysore Bank Circle will be removed. While light motor vehicles and two-wheelers will be allowed to move on both sides, there will be a ban on the movement of heavy vehicles, including Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation and Karnataka State Road Trasnport Corporation buses.

A free right turn will be provided at Police Corner for all the vehicles from K.R. Circle to Police Corner to move towards Mysore Bank Circle.

The BMTC bus stop near Cauvery Bhavan will be shifted opposite to S.J. Polytechnic on Seshadri Road and the Magistrate Court on Nrupatunga Road.
