BANGALORE, APRIL 28. The City Crime Branch Police on Tuesday raided two shops at the National Market in Gandhi Nagar and seized 1,120 pirated compact discs worth Rs. 1.12 lakhs. The police arrested Sonu Singh (20) of J.P. Nagar and B. Mansoor (39) of Shivaji Nagar. The police said the compact discs were being marketed in violation of the copyrights of the members of the Indian Music Companies.
Burglary bid
A gang reportedly made an attempt to burgle a bank in the JP Nagar Police limits on Wednesday. The police said the burglars broke open the windowpane leading to a room of Bank of Maharashtra at about 2.30 a.m. As they went inside, an alarm went off alerting neighbours and the security staff. The burglars fled the scene, the police said.
Stolen
A gold chain worth Rs. 7,000 was reportedly stolen from a physically handicapped woman in the Basaveshwara Nagar Police limits on Tuesday. According to the police, the chain of Nagamma (34) was taken away from her neck while she was sleeping in her bedroom.
Ends life
An employee of the Central Water Board hanged himself to death in Muneeshwara Nagar in the Ramamuthy Nagar Police limits on Tuesday night, the police said. According to the police, the victim, Yelangovan (36), hanged himself after sending his wife and two children to his relative's house in the neighbourhood.
Body found
The Cottonpet Police found a 40-year-old man dead on a pavement in Arcot Srinivasachar Road on Tuesday. The man was of five inches height and was wearing a striped bull shirt, a release from the police said.
