Thackeray speak

Sir, — The Shiv Sena leader, Bal Thackeray's statement that politicians should retire at 65 (April 29) is interesting. But when government employees retire at 60, politicians, being public servants, should also do so.

Sir, — Was it not Mr. Thackeray who appeared in an election rally a few days ago with the 80-year-old Mr. Vajpayee and appealed to the voters to give the Prime Minister another term?
