NEW DELHI, APRIL 29. The news services division of All India Radio (AIR) has made arrangements to broadcast election results in Hindi and English on May 13. It will air a special a live continuous bilingual programme Mandate 2004 on that day. The AIR, apart from announcing the trends immediately after the counting starts at 8 a.m., will announce the results in its hourly bulletins, news-on-phone (NOP) services and FM. The NOP and FM series will carry half-hourly updates. The AIR will put out a live bilingual programme in Hindi and English from 9-10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 11 when the Andhra Pradesh Assembly results are to be announced. The live programme will have inputs from leaders of political parties, experts and political analysts. On May 13, when the counting for the Lok Sabha results and the three State Assemblies of Karnataka, Orissa and Sikkim is taken up, it will organise a live continuous bilingual programme from 9-10 a.m. to 6 p.m. that will have inputs from leaders of political parties, experts and political analysts. The panel would include a psephologist for a comprehensive study of the trends and results. On the same day, a Radio Bridge will go on air from 9-30 p.m. to 10-30 p.m. In this hour-long programme, Delhi will be linked with important State capitals. Eminent journalists and commentators will participate in this programme.
