LUCKNOW, APRIL 29. The Congress-backed independent candidate here, Ram Jethmalani, today alleged that the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, had got the ``chief culprit'' in the Telgi scam retransferred to the Nasik printing press from Hyderabad. The Prime Minister's Office, however, described the charge as an ``election gimmick.'' In his fourth set of questions to Mr. Vajpayee, he alleged that Ganga Prasad, Deputy General Manager of the Government Printing Press, was transferred to Hyderabad in a routine manner. Since Nasik was the scene of Mr. Prasad's ``nefarious activities,'' he was interested in getting himself retransferred to Nasik, Mr. Jethmalani said. He alleged that Mr. Prasad approached some Telgu Desam MPs and MLAs, who in turn took up the matter with Mr. Vajpayee and Mr. Prasad was transferred back to Nasik. PTI
