Hero Indian Sports awards on May 15
HYDERABAD,
APRIL 29.
The Hero Indian Sports Academy (HISA), which has as its chairman the former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev, will honour the winners of its second annual Hero Indian Sports awards at a ceremony to be held at Hyderabad on May 15.
According to a statement released here on Thursday
Mr. Pawan Munjal, Director of the Hero group and Mr. Sanjay Lal, President of HISA, are also associated with the scheme. HISA aims to recognise build and award outstanding sports talent in the country and also to support projects India where sport is being used as a vehicle to address social change through the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation and its schemes.
According to the statement the Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) will also be involved in the nomination process and the views of sports journalists from all over India will also be taken into account for the nominations.
The founder members of the academy will select the final winners in various categories from amongst those who have been nominated. During the function special awards carrying prize money of Rs. 1 lakh each will be given to two of India's sports legends along with an audio visual tribute.
