Partly cloudy

CHENNAI, APRIL 29. The sky will be partly cloudy on Friday and there is a possibility of development of thunderclouds during evening or night. The minimum temperature will be 37 degrees Celsius.

On Thursday, Nungambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of 35.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 28.2 degree Celsius. Meenambakkam recorded a maximum of 36 degree Celsius and a minimum of 28 degree Celsius. Humidity stood at 69 per cent and 66 per cent.

Counters shifted

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board's Perambur, East Perambur, West Perambur, East and West Section card billing counters and the Perambur Fuse Off Call (FOC) Centre, now functioning on No. 2, Jaganathan Salai, Periyar Nagar, 33/11 kV sub-station complex, will be shifted to 33/11 kV Paper Mills Road sub-station on No. 29, Paper Mills Road, Perambur, with effect from May 1. The new telephone numbers for Perambur FOC centre is 26703399 and Perambur West section is 26704626.

`Meet the medical expert'

The Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre is organising `Meet the medical expert' a monthly programme to counsel the public on medical problems on the campus of the Periyar Science and Technology Centre on Friday. J. G. Kannappan, orthodontist, will advise participants on dental-related problems between 2.30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

ATM inaugurated

Canara Bank has opened a networked ATM at its Mylapore branch.

This is the 46th ATM that the bank has introduced in the city.

Reservation

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has set up an interactive voice response system (IVRS) regarding enquiry and reservation.

The system, available in English, Tamil and Telugu, can be accessed on 24792288. The corporation can also be contacted at 24792233.

Blood donation

Sant Nirankari Mandal, a service organisation, organised a blood donation camp for its members. Hundred members donated blood. The 100 units of blood were donated to the blood bank of the Government Children's Hospital.

Yoga module

Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram has come up with a yoga module for executives and persons who need to relieve their stress. The `Morning cup of health' programme will feature daily classes on asanas, pranayama and meditation from 6.30 a.m. to 7.45 a.m. The last date for registration is May 15.
