PONDICHERRY, APRIL 30. The Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy, today greeted the people on the eve of May Day, saying that the development witnessed today was the outcome of sustained and tireless labour of the working class. The industry and agriculture had been the pivotal sectors in ushering development, as was vividly championed by Tamil poet, Subramania Bharathiar, he said. Education Minister K. Lakshminarayanan referred to the spirit of unity underlying the May Day celebrations, the world over. The Local Administration Minister, A. Elumalai, the Opposition leader in the Assembly, R. V. Janakiraman, the Pondicherry Pradesh Congress Committee president, V. Narayanasamy, and representatives of various trade unions extended their greetings.
