`State witnessing pro-BJP wave'
By Our Staff Reporter
KASARAGOD,
APRIL 30.
The exodus of local and State-level leaders of other parties into the BJP is an indication of the pro-BJP wave being witnessed in the State, the BJP State president, P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, has said.
Addressing a press conference here today, he announced that two leaders, M. Narayana Bhat of the Congress and Jose Mathew of the CPI(M), were joining the BJP with their followers.
Mr. Pillai said the flow of leaders and their followers into the BJP strongly indicated that the `lotus' would bloom in the State this time.
The Congress and the CPI(M) were cheating the people by co-habiting as well as opposing each other at the same time. While the Congress had tie-up with the Left parties in as many as 461 constituencies, they vehemently opposed each other in 82 seats, Mr. Pillai said.
