Belgaum
By Our Staff Correspondent
BELGAUM, MAY 1. Belgaum Children's Hospital, which promises quality treatment at affordable prices, will be opened in the city tomorrow. Arun Desai, senior paediatrician, said the hospital would provide several speciality services for newborns and young children. The need to open a children's hospital arose from the fact that at least 30 per cent of the infants in the district weighed less than 2.5 kg, he added. He said the hospital at Samsukha Complex in Khade Bazar would provide round-the-clock service. Facilities such as a mobile X-ray unit (so that the baby under treatment is not moved from place to place) and a committed nursing staff would be made available at the hospital, he added.
