Wisden honour for five Indians
NEW DELHI,
MAY 1.
Five Indian cricketers - Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, V.V.S. Laxman and Anil Kumble - have found place in the Wisden's list of 40 top cricketers in the world. Australia dominates the list with 14 entries, followed by South Africa with seven.
Meanwhile, the inaugural `Leading Cricketer of the World' honour has been conferred on Australia skipper Ricky Ponting in the 141st edition of what is known as cricket's Bible. The players have been honoured for their performance in the year 2003, according to a Wisden release here on Saturday. Andrew Flintoff and Chris Adams of England, Graeme Smith and Garry Kirsten of South Africa and Ian Harvey of Australia have been named the five cricketers of the year. UNI
