ICC top brass for ACC seminar

ISLAMABAD, MAY 1. Former Indian cricketers as well as the top brass of the International Cricket Council would attend a two-day seminar on international cricket development being organised by the Asian Cricket Council at Lahore on May 9 and 10.

Besides Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri, the seminar would be attended by ICC President Ehsan Mani, chief executive Malcolm Speed, Australian Greg Chappell, West Indies' Clive Lloyd, Barry Richards of South Africa and Bob Woolmer of England, who is also ICC's high performance manager, the Pakistan Cricket Board said here on Saturday.

The seminar would focus its discussions on the professional expertise of cricket development, scientific development of cricket in Asia and steps needed for improved synchronisation between Asian and global development programme initiatives.

It would also discuss issues like how to share information and ideas to clearly define pathways to cricket excellence, identification of a system with a database of professionals in various areas and projection of expert recommendations from ACC and ICC.

During the seminar, workshop sessions will also be held on Asia specific development, global specific immediate development needs, cricket education processes, high performance programmes in developing cricket world, ground and pitch development, developing media relations and planning cricket facilities. — PTI
