A frank chat
KARACHI: Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq and vice-captain Yousuf Youhana met PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan and reportedly discussed the behaviour of a few players, including Shoaib Akhtar, during the recently-concluded Test series against India.
According to a report in The News, the trio also discussed their team's dismal show during the series, future prospects of the team and the proposed central contract system for players.
The report said: ``The introduction of a central contract system for players also came under discussion and the chairman told the two senior players the Board would first have to see the financial implications of implementing such a system before taking a final decision, even though it had earned a record sum of $22 million from the series against India.''
Both Inzamam and Youhana asked the Board to introduce the central contract system for a pool of 20 to 25 players to ensure optimum performances from them and a reduction in injury problems with leading players due to non-stop action throughout the year, it further said.
