`Only winning counts'
VIENNA: Germany swept aside Austria 3-0 in the Tennis Classics series, a rematch of their 1994 Davis Cup duel. Germany had won that tie 3-2.
Boris Becker beat Austria's current Davis Cup captain Thomas Muster 6-4, 6-3 and Michael Stich secured Germany's second point against Alexander Antonitsch 7-6(5), 7-6(8) in the match held on Friday.
Becker, 36, dominated Muster with his renowned serve. ``I found my rhythm quickly and everything worked out fine. Finally, I got a chance to pay Thomas back for the loss in Monte Carlo,'' Becker said, referring to Muster's five-set win in the Monaco Grand Prix final in 1995 that robbed Becker of his first clay court title.
``We used to be archrivals, but time has healed our wounds and we have become good friends. However, on the court still only winning counts,'' Becker added.
In the doubles, Becker and Stich eased past Muster and Antonitsch 9-5 in a long set.
