Cuddapah
By Our Staff Reporter
CUDDAPAH, MAY 1. The Cuddapah one-town police unravelled the mystery behind the murder of an autorickshaw driver of Cuddapah town in Anantapur district recently by arresting two persons. The Cuddapah DSP, M. Ramprasada Rao, said on Saturday that a woman, Kalavathi, complained to the police on April 11 that her husband, Rathnamaiah, had been missing. Police said investigation revealed that one Devireddy Janardhana Reddy of Prakashnagar here, who lent money to autorickshaw owners and drivers, became debt-ridden. To clear his debts, he allegedly planned to kill Rathnamaiah and sell away his auto, the DSP said. He allegedly offered Rathnamaiah rum mixed with sleeping pills, the DSP said.
