Several areas in Nellore go without water

NELLORE, MAY 1. Several parts of Nellore town went without water on Saturday. Though the issue came up for discussion at the council meetings several times, no concrete steps were taken to solve the water problem. On Thursday, the council meet on budget was adjourned, on a complaint by members that the presentation of the budget estimates were far from satisfactory. With the stalemate over the budget continuing, tanker owners who supply water on behalf of the municipality, seem to be in doubt over payment of their dues.
