May Day celebrations under way at Indian Overseas Bank, Ramakrishnapuram, in New Delhi on Saturday, presided over by the President of the National Confederation of Bank Employees, L. Balasubramaniam.
Memorandum to Maken
The AIIEA, representing insurance employees of LIC and public sector general insurance companies, expressed apprehension that the Government was contemplating taking steps to weaken the public sector general insurance companies. The delegation alleged that private insurance companies were siphoning off the resources through reinsurance premiums and investments. Both Mr. Anand and Mr. Maken assured the delegation that they would raise its grievances at appropriate forums.
Spiritual festival inaugurated
Organised by the Maitreya Preksha Seva Mission (MPSM), the spiritual festival was inaugurated by the well-known biographer of Mother Teresa, Navin Chawla.
