VANCOUVER, MAY 1. As the proceedings of the Air India trial moved to a secret location, an aircraft explosives expert has testified that the bomb aboard the Kanishka flight that killed all 329 people on board a decade ago exploded in the cargo area. The trial has moved to the warehouse where the plane has been secretly reconstructed from its parts over the last 18 months. Police have kept the location of the warehouse secret, citing ``security threats.'' The expert Christopher Peel has testified that the pattern of damage showed the bomb exploded in the cargo area containing baggage from Vancouver. Describing the sequence of the plane's mid-air break-up, Mr. Peel said on Thursday that the bomb went off creating a hole. Mr. Peel told the court that the structural analysis of the heavily deformed aircraft wreckage indicated the bomb was located in the cargo area which held suitcase checked at Vancouver airport. Markings on the wreckage ruled out the possibility that the bag was in the cargo which held baggage from Toronto, he told the Canadian daily The Globe and Mail. PTI
