KOLKATA, MAY 1. Nirvick Mohinta and Ranjan Prasad won a double crown each winning both the singles and the doubles titles in the boys' under-18 and under-14 sections respectively of Shambazar Tennis Club organised AITA Talent Series meet here on Saturday. Mohinta, seeded second in both the singles and doubles, outplayed top seeded Arpit Sharma in the singles final of the clay-court event and then paired with Samriddh Burman to beat Sharma, who had partnered Farid Alam as the top combination, again in the doubles. Prasad, however, justified his top billing on both occasions as he blanked second seeded Mohammad Imran 6-0, 6-0 in the singles and followed it up with an equally powerful showing in the doubles pairing with Karamveer Singh Dhillon. They beat the unseeded local pair of Aritra Chowdhury and Rohan Ray 6-0, 6-1. On the distaff side, Rohini Das, who had upset the top seeded Devanshi Rajgharia in the semifinals, continued with the good form and easily got past seventh seeded Hina Valechha to win the under-18 title. Fifth seeded Mohana Sarker emerged as the surprise winner of the under-14 title beating fourth seeded Richa Valechha in straight sets in the final. Sarker had earlier beaten top seeded Treta Bhattacharya and third seeded Dipti Srivastav in the quarterfinal and the semifinal respectively to enter the title round. The girls' under-18 doubles crown was won by top seeded pair of Shivika Burman and Devanshi Rajgharia. Lack of entries forced the organisers to scrap the under-14 doubles event for girls.
