NEW DELHI, MAY 1 . Adding a new dimension to the electoral campaign in the Capital, the Congress candidate from the New Delhi parliamentary constituency, Ajay Maken, today launched his own interactive website with a provision for holding cyber chat sessions during the night. "I am using advanced technology to know the problems and issues confronting the people at the click of the mouse,'' remarked Mr.Maken at the launch of the programme.

Known for being computer savvy, Mr. Maken said that he would be available for group discussions and chat sessions between 11 p.m. and 12 p.m. every night. He would personally attend to all the queries of his constituents. Provisions have been made in the software to filter any unparliamentary words or questions.

Mr. Maken held a demonstration for the media on the working of the website and said this indicated his style, his commitment to the people of the constituency and his vision to make it one of the best in the world.

The website has details about the life, social and political journey of Mr. Maken and the works done by him as the Transport and Power Minister in the Sheila Dikshit Government. The website has details of the conversion of the public transport to CNG mode, construction of flyovers and his other important achievements including the privatisation of the Delhi Vidyut Board. Mr. Maken said through this website the people of the constituency would be able to talk to him directly all the time from anywhere. He would be there to listen to their problems, suggestions and give a feedback on the action taken by him on the issues raised by them. "The website has been put in place with the idea to use the Information Technology for the betterment of the people. This would continue even after the elections and improvisations would be made accordingly,'' he added.

The website also contains details about the vision of Mr. Maken for the Central Government employees and the chargesheet against the BJP-led Central Government for discriminating against such employees and taking them for a ride on the premise of implementing the various demands raised by them. "I have a commitment for the cause of the employees. It is the same commitment that my uncle, Lalit Maken, had during his time. I have also fought for the cause of the employees and will continue to do so even after winning the election,'' he remarked.
