NIZAMABAD, MAY 1. The inmates of Government hostels across the district have put up impressive performance in the SSC examinations, results of which were announced yesterday. The Social Welfare, Tribal Welfare and Backward Classes Welfare hostel students were congratulated by the District Collector, D.V.Raidu for excelling in the examinations. The students of the Tribal Welfare hostels in Yellareddy, Koulas (Jukkal mandal), Gandhari and Bheemgal, surprised the officials by coming out with flying colours. Of the 30 students, who appeared from the ST welfare hostel, Yellareddy, 26 passed in first division and four secured second class. The 100 per cent performance overshadowed the pathetic performance given by the students of the same hostel last year when only 25 out of 44 students passed. The ST boys hostel Kaulas notched up 90 per cent. Out of the 11 students, 10 of them got through. Four students secured first class, two others passed in second division while four others got third division. The students of Gandhari boys hostel were also not far behind. Out of the 46 students who appeared, 41 got first class and three others secured second division. The Social welfare hostel students also put up a good show this year by achieving 81 per cent results. In all 444 students appeared for the examinations and 358 came out in flying colours. Out of the 12 boys hostels from where 333 students appeared for examinations, 169 got first division, 69 others second class and 38 third division. The SW boys hostel, Choutpalli, achieved 100 per cent result with all the 35 students passing the examination. Thirty three students from the said hostel passed the examination in first division while three others secured second division. Among the five girls hostel, 111 girl students appeared for the examinations. Thirty six secured first division, 35 second division and 11 third class. The BC welfare hostels achieved 93.41 per cent results. There are 30 BC welfare hostels for boys and girls in Nizamabad, Bodhan and Kamareddy divisions. Thirteen hostels scored 100 per cent results.
