Root out child labour: Collector

By Our Staff Reporter

GUNTUR, MAY 1. Giving a call to people to root out child labour menace from the society, the District Collector, K. Ramakrishna Rao, said that awareness must be created among the parents so that they do not force their school-age children to work.

At a May Day function organised by the Labour Department here on Saturday, he urged parents to send their children to schools without any gender bias. The Deputy Labour Commissioner, J.S.S Prasad, said that there were 40,000 children working in the district and efforts should be taken to enrol them in bridge schools.
