Box kept at Circuit House for poll complaints

KANCHEEPURAM, MAY 1. A box has been kept at the Circuit House here to help general public and political party representatives to drop election-related grievances / complaints addressed to the poll observers.

Complaints can also be lodged in person to Narahari Sharma and M.B. Paswan, general observers, and A.V. Rao, expenditure observer, who will be available at the Circuit House daily between 9.30 and 11 a.m. or over phone: Narahari Sharma - (04112) 239241, mobile: 94432 26141; Paswan - (04112) 239242, mobile: 98420 99523; Rao - (04112) 237111, mobile: 98420 99514

Complaints can also be faxed to (04112) 237012, said the Collector and returning officer for the Chengalpattu Parliamentary constituency, R. Venkatesan, in a press release.

Inspects preparation works

Mr. Narahari Sharma paid a visit to Konerikuppam and Thirukalimedu and made enquiries with the villagers whether they had been enlightened on how to exercise their franchise using electronic voting machine.

He inspected the election preparation works at the Kancheepuram tahsildar office.

Mr. Paswan inspected the polling stations set up at Ramapuram, Elapakkam, Kadappakkam, Sunambedu, Cheyyur and other areas and verified the photo identity cards issued to the voters at these villages. Later, he had a discussion with Mr. Venkatesan on the election work in the constituency.

Voter list for verification

Voter list for nine Assembly segments in Kancheepuram district has been made available at the Collectorate for verification by the public. Copies of the list are also available at the offices of the revenue divisional officer at Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram and Madurantakam and at the respective taluk offices. Apart from this, voters can get any information on the list over phone (04112 - 237425).
