COIMBATORE, MAY 1. The International Association of Educators for World Peace, Alabama, the United States, has conferred the "Higher Education and Development (HEAD) Award 2004" on the Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), C. Ramasamy. A release from the university said the award had been conferred in recognition of the outstanding contributions made by Mr. Ramasamy towards higher education in the field of agriculture.Among the achievements of the Vice-Chancellor were innovations in curriculum structuring, syllabi designing, web-based education, video conferencing, industrial orientation of courses and open and distance education. The award was presented on the occasion of the Higher Education and Development Summit held on April 15 and 16 at the India International Centre in New Delhi.
