COIMBATORE, MAY 1 . Officials of the Labour Department have initiated action against more than 150 commercial establishments in the district that had not declared holiday for its workers on May Day today. A release from the department said that raids were conducted in 292 commercial establishments, 105 eateries and 28 automobile workshops/transport firms in Pollachi, Valparai, Udumalpet and Coimbatore. It was found that 160 commercial establishments, 56 eateries and 16 automobile workshops had neither declared holiday for its workers nor notified the same to the workers with a copy to the Labour Department officials concerned.
