THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MAY 1. The writer, M. P. Paul, was instrumental in democratising the renaissance movement in Malayalam literature and taking its benefits to the masses, according to the Communist ideologue, P. Govinda Pillai. Addressing a meeting organised by the Sahithya Pravarthaka Sahakarana Sanghom (SPCS) in connection with the birth centenary celebrations of M. P. Paul here today, Mr. Govinda Pillai said that the 19th century in which M. P. Paul reigned supreme along with celebrated writers like Joseph Mundassery and C. J. Thomas was one of the major periods of growth for Malayalam literature.
