Two killed in accidents

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MAY 1 . Two persons were killed in separate accidents in the district on Sunday. A 38-year-old woman, Jiji, was killed when the scooter on which she was travelling skidded near Uchakada in the Neyyattinkara Police Station limits at around 8 a.m. Jiji is a resident of Manavila near Pozhiyoor. She is survived by husband Satyaraj and a child.

A 65-year-old pedestrian was killed when he was knocked down by a van while attempting to cross the road at Vetturodu in the Medical College Police Station limits. Police identified the deceased as Bhaskaran, a local resident. The body was being kept at the MCH mortuary.

Three of a family were injured when the scooter on which they were travelling collided with a van at Venjarammoodu this evening. Police identified the injured persons as Chandra Mohan (46), Chichu Mohan (17) and Ditty Mohan (14). They have been admitted to the MCH here. In another accident at Kollencode, a 30-year-old man was injured when the scooter on which he was travelling hit a pedestrian on Sunday afternoon. The scooterist, Ajith Kumar, is under treatment at the MCH.
