ALAPPUZHA, MAY 2. The clash of dates of the Kerala University degree-level English examinations (on May 3) with the pre-election training for presiding officers in the district may affect the smooth conduct of the examination. A large number of lecturers and professors of various colleges in the district are presiding officers for the elections. It the principals leave the colleges to take part in the classes of the Election Commission, it would result in the absence of responsible officials in the colleges at the time of the examination. As the principals as chief examiners, their presence is a must while taking out question papers from sealed covers, sources said. In some colleges, the principals and vice-principals are presiding officers and both of them would have to leave the colleges at the time of the examinations.
