Mixed luck for Kannur

KOLLAM, MAY 2. It was mixed luck for Kannur in the seventh State mini handball championships which concluded at the Quilon Athletic Club here on Sunday.

Kannur retained the title in the boy's section with a 7-3 win over Kollam. The winner led 4-1 at half-time But Kollam girls avenged the defeat suffered by its boys as it dethroned Kannur in a one-sided final. Kollam won 9-1 after leading 5-0 at half-time.

Ernakulam took the third spot in boy's section defeating Thrissur 9-6. Kasargode beat Thiruvananthapuram 4-1 to finish third in the girl's section.
