Dempo posts win

MARGAO, MAY 2. Dempo came from behind to defeat Haywards Sporting 3-1, and remained in second place in the eighth National football league, at the Nehru stadium, here on Sunday.

An own goal by Louis Aniweta gave Dempo the lead which was followed by goals from Sunday Seah and R.C. Prakash. Abdul Lateer Sirki scored for Haywards.

Dempo which collected 42 points from 21 matches thus consolidated its position to remain in second spot behind East Bengal, while Haywards Sporting remained on sixth position with 26 points from 20 matches. — PTI
