HCA office-bearers

HYDERABAD, MAY 2. G. Vinod, managing director of Venus Cybertech Ltd. and Director of Vinspire Technologies, will be the new president of the Hyderabad Cricket Association, it was disclosed after the annual general body meeting of the HCA at the Uppal cricket stadium here on Sunday.

The outgoing president M. Ranga Reddy nominated Vinod since he was the senior-most vice-president. The only post that witnessed a contest in the election was for the executive committee membership from D-Division. Three members contested for two posts — K. Bhanu Prasad (Shanti CC), Mohd. Farooq (International CC) and K. Srinivas Chakravarthy (YMRC). Prasad and Farooq were elected with 177 and 144 votes respectively, while Chakravarthy managed 92.

The rest of the office-bearers were unanimously elected for the term 2004-06.

HCA sources indicated that Mr. C.V. Anand, IPS and vice-president in the outgoing body, and Mr. Dharamchand Jain would be nominated for the two vice-presidents' posts as per the Constitution at the first executive committee meeting of the HCA very soon.

President: G. Vinod. Vice-presidents: Arshad Ayub, D.S. Chalapathi, Gautam Chand Jain. Secretary: N. Shivlal Yadav. Joint secretary: Dr. M.V. Sridhar. Treasurer: P. Yadgiri. Executive committee: A-Division: K. John Manoj (MP Colts), Naresh Sharma (EMCC), Peter Gomez (St. Mary's CC), Prakash Chand Jain (Evergreen), Syed Moizuddin (Budding Stars) and R. Vijayanand (R. Dayanand CC). B-Division: E. Gopal (Bharatiya), D. Kishan Rao (Navjeevan Friends). C-Division: M. Narender Goud (Consult) and Surender K. Agarwal (Reliance CC). D-Division: K. Bhanu Prasad (Shanti CC) and Mohd. Farooq (International CC).
