MAA TV takes Airtel Cup

HYDERABAD, MAY 2. Man of the Match Kaushik's three for 34 helped MAA Television win the first ever Airtel Cup Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Silver Jubilee cricket tournament, defeating GE-CIS by 12 runs in the final at the Gymkhana grounds on Sunday.

Batting first, MAA Television scored 180 in the stipulated 30 overs, with Smyls top-scoring with 34 off 35 balls. In reply, GE-CIS was shot out for 168 in 29 overs. Gulshan top-scored for the GE-CIS team with 47 off 43 balls

Former India captain Mohd. Azharuddin, who was the chief guest, gave away the trophy to the winning team.

The score: MAA Television 180 in 30 overs (Smyls 34) bt GE-CIS XI 168 in 29 overs (Gulshan 47, Kaushik three for 34 ). Man of the Match: Kaushik. Man of the Series: Ramakrishna Reddy (MAA Television). Best Batsman: Srivatsan (Accenture Services).
