Rain spoils play

By P. Subramanyam

LONDON, MAY 3 . New Zealand kicked off its English tour on a wet note when the first day of its warm-up match against British Universities was abandoned due to persistent rain in Cambridge on Monday. Skipper Stephen Fleming has been rested and Chris Cairns leads the Black Caps.

The Kiwis will play three Tests against England and will take part in the triangular one-day tournament which also involves West Indies.
