Letters to the Editor
Sir, It is rather distressing to see the leaders of various parties vying to stake claim to the highest post, based on the exit polls. This ongoing `power struggle' is nothing but a grand rehearsal for the drama to be enacted when the final results will be out on May 13. Their posers to one another on who is the most eligible Prime Minister are amusing.
Satish S. Rannavre,
* * * Sir, "A battle here or a battle there won is not victory," said Winston Churchill when Great Britain was fighting World War II. Exit polls are similar to these battles. Their predictions, like astrology, are unreliable, and can be manipulated by vested interests. Today, voters are well informed. They can assess the performance of different political parties. It is therefore hoped they will ignore such predictions and rely only on the final results.
G. Krishnawami,
