Is it necessary?

Sir, — Is it necessary for the courts to have a 45-day vacation when thousands of cases are pending? During the British Raj, all the judges were English and they could not withstand the sweltering heat of the Indian summer. They created the `vacation' concept so that they could move to cooler places.

The Indian judges are accustomed to all seasons. If necessary, courts can be air-conditioned during summer.
