Murali must be allowed to bowl: Lee

NEW DELHI, MAY 4. Australian speedster Brett Lee is keen to watch the `Murali show' carry on in contemporary cricket.

"There is no problem with Muttiah Muralitharan's bowling action. He must continue to bowl as he has done in the past,'' said Lee.

"It (International Cricket Council) should allow him to go ahead and play,'' Lee said replying to a question on the recent controversy.

Muralitharan is currently on 513 wickets, just six adrift of Courtney Walsh's world record. Sri Lanka opens its first Test of the current series against Zimbabwe on Thursday.

About Australia's impending tour of Zimbabwe, Lee said that he was in a unique position as he was yet to fully recover for the ankle injury. "Stuart MacGill has made a statement about not touring Zimbabwe and I respect his feelings. But, I cannot say anything about the situation out there in Zimbabwe,'' Lee said.

On his return to full action, the tearaway bowler said that he expected to recover in time for Australia's tour of the sub-continent.

"I will definitely like to be ready for my first Test tour of India later this October,'' Lee said.
