S. Railway has it easy

VIRUDHUNAGAR, MAY 4. Southern Railway, Chennai, registered an easy 63-38 victory over Port Trust, Tuticorin, in the semifinal round robin league of the second annual Hatsun Agro Products Ltd. Trophy State-level Basketball tournament, conducted by Kamaraj Basketball Club at S.P. Kothala Nadar stadium here on Tuesday.

In the women's league, Rising Star Basketball Club, Chennai, beat Holy Angels Basketball Club, Salem, 51-20.

The results: (Men's semifinal league): Southern Railway 63 (Sivasankar 13, Suresh 12, Pasupathy 10) bt Port Trust 38 (Senthil 10, Santhosh 10).

Indian Bank (Javid Khan 10) bt Port Trust (Ramesh 11).

Quarterfinals: Southern Railway 72 (Jeyaprakash 23, Bernard 14) bt Southern Railway Cooperative Society BC 60 (Bose 15, Pechi 12).

Port Trust 52 (Vinoth 18) bt MRC 28 (Rajavel 12).

ICF 60 (Balaji 12, Ashwin 14, Boopalan 10) bt Young Stars BC 39 (Pandiaraj 10, Ramesh 10).

Women's league: Rising Star BC 51 (Deepa 10, Lakshmi Devi 10) bt Holy Angels BC 20.

Ethiraj College 42 (Selva Jansi 11, Praba 12, Priya 13) bt Holy Angles BC 17.
