Surjeet hospitalised

HOSHIARPUR (PUNJAB), MAY 4. The veteran CPI(M) leader, Harkishan Singh Surjeet, was admitted to hospital today after he complained of uneasiness, party sources said here.

Doctors at the private hospital in Mohali described his condition as ``stable.''

Mr. Surjeet, who had come here for campaigning and was staying in a hotel, suddenly took ill. A team of doctors was rushed to the hotel and they referred him to the hospital in Mohali.

Dr. Yogesh Chander Markan told reporters that the veteran CPI(M) leader's ``blood pressure was normal, but a mild variation was found in his ECG report.''
